What to expect?
Ways to spend the night
We kick off together, introduce the buildathon, get everyone oriented and help people find teams and ideas. Then the room opens up for hours of building.
- Build with Devin
- Fireside conversations
- Open build time
- Demos + prizes
Build with Devin
Cognition engineers walk through using Devin as a collaborator — from turning an idea into a prototype to having agents take on pieces of the work.
Fireside conversations
Short talks with builders and creative technologists on what becomes possible as AI changes who can make software — and what “building” even means.
Open build time
Most of the night is yours. Solo or with a team, bounce between software and hardware, ask for help, test weird ideas, make something real.
Demos + prizes
We close with rapid-fire demos from the room and award cash prizes + III Points tickets to some of our favorite projects.
Build like your inner child. Follow the strange idea. Make the thing you wish existed. Don't worry about whether it becomes a startup.
What can
you build?
Use AI, code, hardware, APIs, sensors, creative software, or whatever else helps bring the idea to life. You don't need to arrive with a fully formed idea or team.
→BRING AN IDEA-- SIX HOURS TO MAKE SOMETHING YOU WOULDN'T MAKE ANYWHERE ELSE.
Rough schedule
Doors
Doors + kickoffMeet everyone, hear the challenge, find collaborators, start forming ideas.

Devin sessions + firesidesShort programming breaks for inspiration, technical help, or a look at how others build.
Push
Final pushGet the thing working. Or working enough to show us what you were trying to do.
Demos
DemosShow the room what you made.
Prizes
Prizes + wrapCash prizes and III Points tickets for favorite projects.
The goal isn't polish. It's to leave having made something you probably wouldn't have made anywhere else.

[ STILL CURIOUS? ]
QUICK ANSWERS BEFORE YOU REQUEST TO JOIN.
-- 01.Who is Converge for?+
Artists, designers, musicians, engineers, technologists and curious creators. If you like making things, you belong in the room.
-- 02.Do I need to know how to code?+
No. Teams mix skills, and Devin plus the Cognition engineers on site can help you turn an idea into a working prototype.
-- 03.Do I need a team or an idea?+
Neither. Come solo. We help people find collaborators and ideas at kickoff, and plenty of teams form in the room.
-- 04.How does registration work?+
Request to join and the hosts review every request. Registration requires approval, so apply early.
-- 05.What should I bring?+
A laptop, a charger and any hardware, instruments, sensors or materials you want to play with.
-- 06.What can I build?+
Almost anything: installations, instruments, games, interfaces, performances, robots, AI characters, weird internet tools. It doesn't have to be a startup.
-- 07.How are prizes awarded?+
Every team gets a rapid-fire demo at 9:00 PM. We give cash prizes and III Points tickets to some of our favorite projects. We care more about ambition and strangeness than polish.
-- 08.Who's behind Converge?+
Converge is a Creative Tech Buildathon sponsored by Hack Week and Mana Tech, hosted at Mana Common in downtown Miami.
